ICEF Podcast: What is next for online language learning?

“Online will be a component of the language travel sector moving forward. Whether before or after, or even during [face-to-face courses], I think it is here to stay.” – Jean-Marc Alberola

Our new podcast series continues today with a special panel discussion on the future of online language learning.

Earlier this year, the pandemic created a remarkable change in education services. Language schools, schools and institutions of all types were forced to suspend face-to-face teaching. Many made the switch to teacher-led online learning programmes almost overnight.

Over the summer months, language schools in the UK, Canada, Australia, France, and other leading study destinations, will now begin to resume in-person instruction for the first time since the onset of COVID-19.

So where does this leave us with respect to online delivery? Will schools continue to offer online programmes alongside face-to-face classes? And has the market now shifted to become more accepting of online courses?

Our special guests this week tackle these questions and many more: Jean-Marc Alberola, the president of Bridge Education Group in Denver; Hannah Lindsay, the Group Sales and Marketing Director & Deputy CEO with St Giles International in London; and Peter Lahiff, the academic director with Future Learning in Dublin.
